Close Guantanamo Volunteer Activist Night
On Tuesday, Jan. 8, more than 70 activists from around the Bay Area gathered at the ACLU of Northern California in San Francisco to demand the close of the Guantánamo Bay detention center. We thank all those activists who were there in person and in spirit.

Bill of Rights Day 2007 Featuring Harry Belafonte
On Dec. 9, ACLU-NC celebrated the Bill of Rights with more than 500 guests at the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco. Harry Belafonte was honored with the Chief Justice Earl Warren Civil Liberties award for his lifelong commitment to protecting civil rights and civil liberties, including his latest initiative to address child incarceration and ensure opportunities for young people. Belafonte delivered the keynote address, and ACLU-NC Executive Director Maya Harris gave the annual State of the Union speech.
