Google: Don't Close the Book on Reader Privacy

Don't Let Google Close the Book on Reader Privacy!

Please take a minute to email Google CEO Eric Schmidt and demand that Google Book Search protect your freedom to read privately.

Google is planning to dramatically expand its book service, Google Book Search, and is leaving reader privacy behind. Google Book Search monitors what books you look for, what books you read, and even what you “write” down in the margins. You should be able to read about anything from politics to health without worrying that someone is looking over your shoulder.

The time is now for Google to pledge to protect user privacy and not become a one-stop shop for government fishing expeditions into the private reading records of Americans.
