Building Bridges, Not Walls

Theme: Building Bridges, Not Walls

Come celebrate with us at our annual Bill of Rights Day at the Impact Hub in Oakland!

The ACLU of Northern California is working to make California a bridge to a more progressive and inclusive future. While many states are putting up barriers to prevent marginalized groups from accessing basic civil liberties, we’re working to ensure that the rights outlined in the Constitution and Bill of Rights are extended to all.

Help us recognize these bold leaders and celebrate a year of legislative successes for civil rights and liberties! This year’s honorees include:

  • Judge LaDoris Cordell (retired) for her unwavering commitment to service and justice and innovative and courageous work to effect change in California’s criminal justice system.

  • Patti Kouba for her leadership and decades-long fight for justice, fairness and equality and her commitment to the ACLU of Northern California’s  Civil Liberties Intake Program.

After the program, join us for a reception and enjoy appetizers and an open bar. The first 100 guests will receive a free pocket Constitution.

Doors open at 12:30 p.m.
